Table navigation in JAWS is with ctrl-alt-arrows, like changing speech parameters in Window-Eyes. As I demonstrated to some folks yesterday, every combination of screen reader and browser works differently, and they can also behave differently depending on whether you use Tab and shift-Tab, or arrow keys, and some of your screen reader's browse settings. Have patience. Try things. Work with the help system and the training webinars that have been produced over the past several years. It's all there, but not always easy to find.

Subject: quick transaction on bank site wasRe: combo boxes and drop down boxes

Well, pressing ALT at the dropdown/combo box first didn't work, but when
I remembered to press enter when on/at a dropdown/combo list I was able
to arrow through them with Window-Eyes.

In Jaws, I had to listen to a whole lot of verbage before I found where
I was. I could change the dropdown to various accounts, but it was hit
or miss, and in that area the numpad arrows didn't seem to work.
CNTRL-HOME took me to the top, or if I couldn't get that to work tab or
shift-tab got me out of the quick transaction area. It is a whole lot
of trial and a lot of error.

In the quick transaction area Jaws did say "3 rows 5 columns" but I
wasn't sure how to use that info.

I can use W-E for now, but eventually, especially with Win10, I'm going
to have a problem.

Any suggestions on how to use my banking site in Jaws as I do with W-E?

Before you start to arrow through the combo box, try alt-down arrow first.
That may work.

Subject: combo boxes and drop down boxes

On my banking site I used to get combo boxes which were easy to access
to select desired account number WITH ENTER and arrow.
Now they seem to be drop-down boxes. I also ran into this on an
application I was filling out.

In Window-eyes if I arrow, shift-tab and tab back and forth I can read
and adjust my entries. It is a little time consuming but doable.

Is there an easier way to do this in either Window-eyes or Jaws?

Thanks for the answer to my other 2 questions. I will try the INSERT-B
once I get the drop-down thing figured out.

Thanks,
Brenda
