I do have a downloaded version of 9.5.4 that I requested when we were
notified that wineyes was ending. But now, I'm having the same issue
using Jaws. NVDA works fine. I just finished running SFC /scannow and it
came back okay. I'm perplexed.

current screen reader versions, window 10 fall edition. Any advice
