Anthony, I'm not familiar with the spreadsheet you are talking about, but am familiar with macros. I'm trying to imagine where you are running into the issue. I'll also caveat by saying that I'm still on Office 2010, but hopefully some notes below will help..
To add the Developer tab to your ribbon, follow the steps below. You'll need this to create and run macros. 1. Click File → Options → Customize Ribbon. 2. In the Main Tabs list, check Developer. 3. Click OK. Next, Enable Macros in Excel. This can be set to not allow macros as a safety feature. 1. Click File → Options → Trust Center. 2. Click Trust Center Settings. 3. Click Macro Settings. 4. Select Disable all macros with notification. 5. Click OK twice. You can opt to select Enable all macros, but this opens you up to inadvertently allowing a macro run that has malicious code in it. Once you've done the above, files you open that have a macros saved in them should prompt you to enable macros. Enabling them does not necessarily mean the macros will run until till you tell it to do so, but it will allow You to then go trigger the macro. It's kind of like saying to remove protective view of a document. I used to use a file with macros. When I opened the file, I would get a pop-up asking if I wanted to enable macros. I think the default button was disable, due to the safety aspects. This pop-up box may have been in an older version of Office. I've also seen the Enable Macros button appear, much like the button for Enable Editing button appears when you open a file you received as an attachment. In this latter case, the button is in the ribbon and pressing F6 (or maybe it's shift F6) then tab to the button. -----Original Message----- From: Talk [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of anthony borg via Talk Sent: Sunday, November 26, 2017 6:35 AM To: anthony borg Cc: anthony borg Subject: explanation Hi list I needto use the spread sheet chess clock on my laptop so can somebody explain to me how to do the settings to enable macros please?
