hm try to go to the view menu with maybe alt+v
and go to toolbar menu
uncheck quick filter

Hey listers,
Since spending four days in the hospital after dropping the DTBM on my
foot, something has started to happen with my Thunderbird that is not
helping with my recuperation.
For some reason, I keep getting a box that seems to ask me if I wish
to filter some messages with the key commands of ctrl-shift-k, but it
is in an edit box that I cannot move around in, and for some reason,
maybe related to this, it is making it impossible to close TB as a
Window using F4. Therefore, I have to use the task manager to shut
down TB.
Could it be that TB has been updated since I've been away, and now
presenting me with these new issues?
Well,my foot is really starting to hurt again, so I'd better sign out
and hope that one of you can help me out of this rather irritating mess.
Any help will surely be greatly appreciated,
