Russ, Jaws does have a sort of top-bottom alert function. Not as nice as in Window-Eyes. Press ins-v and type: top arrow down, you land on: top and bottom edge alert here you ca choose for silent and alert with sound. It will not work in the windows explorer pane, but in a real listview it works, but a bit slower then the function in Window-Eyes.
