Hi Carol, Another hot key, comparable to that suggested by Tom, is Ctrl-Insert-NumpadDelete, which does the same thing as Tom's, except that it works for the colour of the pixel under the mouse pointer. As such, it might help in situations where there is a graphical unit of focus, and so you could always just route the mouse pointer to the current focus using Insert-NumpadPlus, and then use the key I have recommended.

As an aside, I am using Thunderbird and have turned on attributes. At the beginning of each new line, a number is spoken (most likely the ASCII representation for that character) and then the color. The funny thing is that almost every line has a different color, black on black, medium blue on blac, midnight blue on black, black on black, blue on black, etc. I find this to be interesting. Also, the speaking of attributes is only available in certain places. For example, I can check attributes in edit boxes and documents, but can not check them in Thunderbird edit boxes. Also, when I press control-delete and it works, it reads the number representation, the font size and foreground and background color. When pressing it twice, it reads the same information and adds the color digital values for both foreground and background. This is interesting how things work from one machine to another, grin.
