Hi Brenda, Under no circumstances update. It doesn't work with w.e or jws. W.e definitly not and possibly only very little with jws. It works with n v d a.
I also tried google chrome as a new browser but it is in my opinion terrible. I lose speech and w.e always creates an error. Internet explorer is supposed to have had no upgrades or updates since the end of July. So not too safe to use that one. If I find out any work around i'll let you know. One that works that is. Despite setting my copy of firefox not to update, it did and that happened with quite a few people. I was advised to install firefox the version we have when the router is turned off. Then to go in and turn off automatic updates. For some reason I couldn't find that option. Then someone else said install firefox, the version that does work. Again with the router turned off. Then uninstall the firefox Mazzilla maintinance. I did that and although firefox did work. Each time I loaded firefox it asked me for permission to use it. I did think about turning off that option and might still do. Not sure if it goes to yes by default or no. I guess i'll have to give it a go. Hope you have better luck than I have had? I haven't done this because I read a post about the update not working with Window Eyes or even Jaws. There were no comments on the GW Talk list or this list as to more than one person having the issue. Is it safe to update?
