Hey thanks for this website. I am in exactly the same boat as you. I am a
reluctant convert, or more precisely a reconvert, since I did use JAWS until
I got Window Eyes in late 2007. I still use Window Eyes sometimes, but the
amount of time I have JAWS loaded is gradually increasing. Eventually, I
know, I will have to use it all the time, but not quite yet.
Something I would like to know is, does JAWS have a repeat Find key like
Window Eyes does. You know, when you press insert-f in Window Eyes, it looks
for the same text as you entered previously so you don't have to keep
entering it again. I'd like to know if JAWS has the same feature. It comes
in handy on websites sometimes and in documents and I've gotten to like it.

I too moved across from Window-eyes to Jaws this year and am a reluctant

Firstly, when you are told the screen has lost focus, just hold down the alt
key and tap the tab key which will move you back to the screen.
I am still working my way through tutorials but have found the following
website with its podcasts very helpful.

Hello!
I have some questions about jaws. I am just learning to use it. Is there
more than one way to read with jaws? If so, please explain. Whenever I
turn on the computer, the speech tells me I have lost focus. Is there a fix
for that? Are there tutorials out there to teach basic commands,
keystrokes, etc. This is more difficult than Window-Eyes was. Any help
