Hi Deborah, I find the Outlook interface gets a bit wonky sometimes in terms of focus. I use Ctrl-Shift-I to focus the inbox, and then use F6 or Ctrl-tab and Shift-F6 or Shift-Ctrl-tab to move between the message list and folder tree. Remember that you have to press Enter to select a folder first, and then use the keys to move between the message list and folder tree.
