Not sure, if anyone here still are using the latest Firefox that worked with WE. I do think it is version 52 something.
I seem to have a trouble here, that I cannot figure my way out of, and wondered if anyone would happen to have an idea. I did install the Navigational Sounds add-on, long time ago. This add-on will play some short sounds, that indicate when you navigate to new pages, when they are loaded and so forth. Like the sounds you would experience in Internet Explorer. And yes, I did check the settings of the add-on, to see if there was a way of remedying my situation, but perhaps I am more blind than what I thought. Hahaha. Thing is, my speech from win-eyes gets docked, that is, every now and then, the volume is turned down. This to hear the other sounds from the PC. Soon as these other sounds have been played, the speech is turned up again, to normal volume. That is what the idea is. But more and more often, it seems something is keeping the speech volume hostage at low-level. It will be turned down, will stay down for very long, and all the sudden be turned up to normal again. Getting tired of operating the mechanical volume buttons on my speaker all the time. Since it only happens in Firefox, and only with Win-Eyes, I concluded it might have to do with the add-on, and hence like I said, did chekc the seetings. But nothing seemed to control that kind of behavior there. Then I did run through my WinEyes settings, hoping to come across such a setting, but did find nothing there either. Is there anywhere else that could control this kind of docking? Is it named anything else in WinEyes? Or, would a kind person direct me in any direction that might lead to my screen reader speaking out at a steady level. Funny thing is, I don't seem to remember this kind of behavior from earlier. But it sure seems to happen several times an hour now aday, so I really would have loved to get hold of the bottleneck here. Thanks for any ideas you might have to contribute. -- David _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
