Hi Rod,

I appreciate the advice but my finances may be cut shortly. Having to take
the cheaper options for now.

I just read that here it is £64 a year for office 365. Which isn't bad
monthly. I'll keep it in mind for the future though.

Live long and prosper, John

Hi John,

I wouldn't be surprised that the fact that your software isn't properly
registered might cause accessibility issues.
As I'm always saying, the advantage of Office 365 is that Microsoft is
always improving accessibility, and, of course, as long as your logged into
your Microsoft account, you are always registered.
I subscribe annually, which gives you two months for free, but even monthly
gives you a lot of resources.
Anyway, I'll get off my soap box and just wish you well with what you have.
Smile

Good luck,

Rod

Hi Rod,
It's a full registered Office 2016. As usual it's a long story. Smiles I
bought it and had problems verifying it. I then did and was put through to
the techy department of Microsoft for them to install it via remote access.
After trying for 2 and a half hours yesterday, I was cut off. Grin.

That's the main reason I'm calling the disability help desk.

I did notice those selections and did try to alter them but maybe as it's a
sort of trial version those catagories might not work.

Microsoft employees seem puzzled and perturbed when I explain I am a blind
person. Somehow it doesn't sink in right away. Silence is often the first
reaction from them.

Thanks a million for the help and it is appreciated.

Live long and prosper, John

Hi John,

Are you using a static version of Office 2016?
I'm using Office 365 which changes regularly.
If you use the View tab, there are view settings in there for displaying
columns.
This is what you must do if you want just the sender, subject and date.
And then there is the sorting by whichever field.
I'm sure the Disability Answer Desk will help.
Of course, I don't call them unless it's something major. Smile Another hot
key is Ctrl-Shift-I which takes you to the inbox and seems to straighten out
the display.
The Outlook Windows seem quite fluid, adjusting to the data which must be
displayed.
And, yes, I've spent some good time playing with the display.
However, I always seem to get things straightened out eventually.
I wish I could say more except to keep at it and you'll get there eventually
too.

Good luck,

Rod

Hi Rod,

Yes tried both, nothing changes. I spent ages on trying to show just the
subject line but no matter what I tried nothing worked.

I'll try caling Microsoft disability help desk later today. They might help?

Have a great day.

Hi John,

Have you tried pressing Alt-spacebar to bring up the window control menu and
then arrowing down to choose maximize or restore, whichever is available, to
see if this affects verbosity?
Also, pressing Alt-v, and then X is the key combination to reset normal view
settings.

Good luck,

Rod

Hi Rod,

At this point in time I would be delighted if I could cut down the added
garble on the subject line. It reads everything like normal, not normal,
attachment no attachment. All that extraneous stuff. Just the subject line
would be brilliant.lol

Sincerely, John

Hi John,

Yes, I see what you mean.
My instructions are a bit old and so the step you are working on is not
right.
At this point, after installing the Outlook Enhance app, you can just close
Outlook, reboot, and you should be good to go.
If not, you can let me know.

Good luck,

Rod

Hi Rod,

Apologies as I am having a problem configuring outlook. When I press alt, f,
t, a twice. I don't get where it should be? It reads browse. I guess I'm
doing something wrong but can't figure it out.

Any help would be appreciated.
