one reason the sounds are lost is when you change the windows sound skeems.
this will un define the window eyes sounds.
i don't know where all the sounds are. but some are in the windows sound
settings. there is a list of windows event sounds. there should be one that
says window eyes sounds. they may of been turned off.
the other thing you might have to search for the wave sounds used because they
are not in the windows\media folder. they are in the program files x86\gw
micro\windoe eyes folder.

Subject: help with sounds
Hi group. I am looking for information for a friend of mine. She has
Window-Eyes on a Win7 machine. I do believe her version is 8.4. She is
asking me to help her get back her sounds. These would be things like
opening and closing menus, changing from line to line when typing (or
reading through the text and having a notification the line has
changed. There are other sounds, but I don't remember which she is
asking for. Anyway, she says they are Window-Eyes sounds and I don't
know how to direct her to get them back. I know there are settings for
sounds in the Windows settings, but these are not what she is looking
for. Any help would be appreciated.
Carol
