Are there specific malfunctions that you feel would be fixed by a
clean reinstallation? Installation will involve reconfiguring all
your Windows settings and reinstalling all your programs.

You absolutely won't need sighted assistance and can do the entire
installation with Narrator, which you'll bring up with the key
command control+windows+enter. If Narrator doesn't speak immediately,
keep issuing that key command until it does. Also, turn off your
numlock once Narrator is launched, as having it off will provide you
more navigation possibilities.
