Hi Marilyn,

iPhone ringtones have an M4R file extension, and these are actually Apple M4A
files which has simply been renamed.
As you may know, ringtones cannot be more than 30 seconds long.
if you want to go through the trouble, as well as spend some money, I did find
a relatively accessible, though not perfect, piece of software which can
transfer a number of different audio and video files to an iPhone, as well as
ringtones.
Here is a link to the software, Which, incidentally, does work under windows 7
and later:

Although this software is supposed to transfer files using Wi-Fi, I was never
able to get this to work, and so I recommend a lightning cable.
I hope this doesn’t cause you more trouble than it’s worth. Smile.

Good luck, and take care,

Rod

Is m4b what is necessary for an IPhone6plus?
If so, then how do you get those ringtones onto the IPhone using a Win7 laptop?

Thanks!
Marilyn
