When I use the source tag (and the note tag) I just make sure it includes the word someone might search for (sometimes I feel the need for a short sentence). So if anyone needs to know where everything is that's based on yahoo imagery they can just search for values including 'yahoo' and they should find all of them.
Having said that it is normal convention, and one OSM seems to have adopted that tag names/values should be lowercase and underscores _ rather than spaces.
