One thing that's kind of been on my mind for some time is a custom walkers' application which makes use of OSM data - there are many proprietary/shareware apps designed for walkers (route planning, 3D terrain preview etc) which use proprietary data sets. If there's interest I'd love to develop such an app... :-) (maybe not just yet as there are other things I need to get done, but as a project for the spring/summer....)
