Thanks a lot! Starting Osmosis using the shell script in the osmosis/bin directory did the trick.
The database driver is not on your classpath. You could (should?) use the shell script in the osmosis/bin directory, or copy the classpath arguments from it (specifically the mysql-connector-java bit). Karl
