Finally got around to adding up the numbers. In total a whole 10 people gave me a figure (including me). The final total for photos was about 42G. Not a huge figure really...

I think the biggest issue here would be the server space really, I actually don't think it's too unrealistic though, just the usual constraints over who has time to sort it out, and whether there's more important things to be done first.
