Then your user experience is going to be no better than those hideous POI mashups based on Google maps with the lists of checkboxes for different categories. We want to create useful maps. If you feel that power lines are shown too strongly in certain cases or that the maps are too cluttered, the best things to do is help improve the rendering, surely? You can't argue with the fact that some people find power lines useful for navigation: I was doing exactly that last night cycling round the New Forest.
