hi, I also experienced this problem and was well surprised that the weekly dump [1] of my town has increased by factor four.
After checking the file in JOSM I feel that XAPI just does not do as descriped for the main API. The ways and nodes I got are spread all over Europe. I even failed to figure out the relations linking them with the object I requested, but that may be due to the (still) primitive support for relations in JOSM. Should my suspicion apply that will produce desastrous outputs when relations become more popular (what I look forward to). Requesting even the tiniest BBox will return huge amounts of data. regards, Sven [1] http://osm.schunterscouts.de Daniel Taylor schrieb: > Hi, > > I had this problem the other day extracting data from the Wigan area, > when I looked at what was being downloaded it was data that was > connected/related to data that was inside the bbox I had selected.
