Hi, I have set up a nightly script to extract the OSM for New Zealand, and then to convert it into a Garmin format which I can load into my GPS.
To render this I am using mkgmap as follows: java -jar ../mkgmap/mkgmap.jar --mapname=64010001 --description="OpenStreetMap for New Zealand" New_Zealand.osm When I look at this map either using QLandKarte or on my GPS I don't get any sea around New Zealand... Can anyone tell me if there is any simple sort of post-processing I could do to the New_Zealand.osm I have downloaded that would surround these islands with water? The nightly OSM files for New Zealand, as well as the Garmin .IMG files are available here: http://debian.mcmillan.net.nz/nsosm/ Regards, Andrew McMillan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew @ Catalyst .Net .NZ Ltd, PO Box 11-053, Manners St, Wellington WEB: http://catalyst.net.nz/ PHYS: Level 6, 150-154 Willis St DDI: +64(4)803-2201 MOB: +64(272)DEBIAN OFFICE: +64(4)499-2267 Don't look now, but the man in the moon is laughing at you. -------------------------------------------------------------------------
