Given the vast volume of data available on genealogical sites relating to graveyards and their 'occupants' mapping there position is not a particularly silly idea, but I think that it may be taking things a little too far? The problems with the thought police on wikipedia come to mind, in that 'notability' may need to become part of the equation, but genealogy is the main reason for my interest in OSM anyway, and I keep being told there are no limits? Perhaps we are getting into another area where a side branch is required and a 'genealogical' set of tags are managed outside the main database. A search for the graves of the smith family could produce rather a lot of results potentially but adding OSM references to a list of graves sounds more practical? -- Lester Caine - G8HFL ----------------------------- Contact - http://lsces.co.uk/lsces/wiki/?page=contact L.S.Caine Electronic Services - http://lsces.co.uk EnquirySolve - http://enquirysolve.com/ Model Engineers Digital Workshop - http://medw.co.uk// Firebird - http://www.firebirdsql.org/index.php _______________________________________________ talk mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/talk
