It's fine for people to discuss it. What I object to is people wanting to implement it (or anything else) on the basis that somebody might, at some point, find it useful. If people have a concrete goal that they want to achieve then I'm all for discussing ways of achieving it but I don't see the point of creating technology just because we can.
