well, Albert Speer and Partner (which is the Junior, still living and practising) are mostly known as urban planners: http://www.as-p.de/ (though the designed some buildings as well), but not where I'm mapping (Italy). Albert Speer senior did some quite big and important projects at his time, but it was mostly destroyed later ;-). Remains of the marble cladding of his Reichkanzlei (Chancelory) can be found e.g. in Treptow: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Berlin_Treptow_Ehrenmal_11.jpg (but this wouldn't make him architect for this anyway). Most of his projects didn't even get to realisation http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Datei:Bundesarchiv_Bild_146III-373,_Modell_der_Neugestaltung_Berlins_(%22Germania%22).jpg&filetimestamp=20090224150707 http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Datei:Bundesarchiv_Bild_146-1983-018-03A,_%22Germania%22,_Modell_%22Gro%C3%9Fe_Halle%22.jpg&filetimestamp=20090224150939 what doesn't make me sorry! But there are some remains: http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Datei:Charlottenburger-Tor_und_Speerleuchte.jpg&filetimestamp=20070319200956 and as some people have started to tag street lights, they might attach an architect=Albert_Speer there ;-) cheers, Martin _______________________________________________ talk mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
