Hi osemmas, I've been doing a bit of surveying in Copenhagen: http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/Saul%20Albert/diary/6584 and have been talking to a few people about setting up a regular survey group to do weekly routes.
We have the opportunity to get some bike-mounted kit, including 3g uplink, wifi equipment to provide access for the mapping party on the move, and gps devices of course. We also have some hack capacity to put together fruity combinations of equipment to achieve some level of automation in the surveying process. Has anyone done this? What equipment/approach recommendations are out there? What do you think would be the most useful hack we could achieve?
