Curved bridges will require more than one segment to mark the bridge way.

   Re: Collected Ways - For a "simple way" bridge case, I leave the bridge 
named either the same as the way or for the case of a named bridge, have the 
way as name_1.  The name collector *might* be able to follow the way by 
inspecting name tags.    I don't know how well that concept applies to a bridge 
carrying multiple ways.

Given that certain tags apply to ways but not nodes, would it not be possible 
to imply some meaning by attaching bridge=yes+layer=1 to a node on a way, to 
mean the segment between this node and the next?

Then the way wouldn't need to be chopped up in the first place.
