http://openstreetbugs.schokokeks.org/dumps/ offers downloads of the raw data. shouldn't be difficult to grep the info and format it into a csv files. Garmin utilities can convert csv files to POI I think only Garmin with memory cards support loading these POI files. This way you don't need to recompile the map
