Since there have been no feedback in a while, and the discussion on the mailing list seem to have died off, I would like to push this proposal for a vote. It have changed significantly from the initial proposal, and have three parts for the vote:
maxheight:legal maxheight:physical maxheight:marine Please read the proposal and cast your vote on all three parts. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/clearance None of these definitions should alter the existing meaning of maxheight. The purpose of it is to amend more information on the restriction where it might have several meanings.
