Petschge on irc://irc.freenode.net/#osm was asking how to create a QR code. He wanted GPL-friendly Ruby code to be able to create QR codes for shortlinks on the main site (thus GPL-friendly and Ruby needed at the same time). Since I had already gotten a QR encoder working for another OSM-project-not-to-be-finished, I thought I'd put it up.
Separately (or, not so anymore) I had also created a Cloudmade-only URL shortener. Told a bunch of Cloudmade folks about it, but from disuse I presume they're not interested. So, I've bashed these two ideas together, and enabled it to work with *openstreetmap.org and *osm.org URLs as well as *cloudmade.com. If you want to try shortening a URL and creating a QR code version of it, visit http://cm.ly/new.cgi?http://example.cloudmade.com/SteveC.html or somesuch similar URL. Hope you find it useful. -- --my blog is at http://blog.russnelson.com Crynwr supports open source software 521 Pleasant Valley Rd. | +1 315-323-1241 Potsdam, NY 13676-3213 | Sheepdog _______________________________________________ talk mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
