Works for me.
Not sure what version working history was added, but its fine for me in
the current tested version 1981.
* make sure you have the History pane enabled.
* Select the ways and/or nodes you want history on.
* Click reload button on history pane to download history for
selected items.
* Select any one of the items you have downloaded in the history
pane and click Show to browse the history.
