If you are desperate to get something going in ai, try osm2ai from the OSM SVN (but this only gives you a very basic data set), or use the proprietary but free-of-charge converter at http://www.flosm.de/ai/index.html. AI professionals tend to use the Avenza Mapublisher plug-in which costs several 1000 $$ and can read shape files. If you have that available I could generate shape files for you. A fully open source way to do what you need would probably involve downloading osmarender (or or/p) from SVN, and running it on an Aarhus extract to get a proper SVG, then post-process it in Inkscape; an idea of the process is here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Frederik_Ramm/Freiburg_Map If you want a large printout of the OpenStreetMap map for Aarhus, in default Mapnik style, give me your postal address and I'll send you one.
