Not particularly - it is a planned upgrade rather then a response to anything.
I've been working on relations yesterday and today, and while loading these relations (max 50 members) is quick today (quick as in < 1 sec per relation), it was slowness galore yesterday (think of 30+ s per relation).
No that seems to have fixed itself - somebody has been going hell for leather at the server all week but we've been having trouble identifying them. They seem to have stopped today however which is why it has been better.
