We'll lose people whichever way it goes. I guess, for example, that Etienne might not contribute to an ODbL-licensed OSM. Similarly, if OSM decides to stay with CC-BY-SA, I will leave the project. That's why forks are good: people can choose to contribute to the project that most closely fits their beliefs.
