Another question is what's the difference between the free and the

This confused me as well. Also it should be clear in the app
descriptions that routing and offline maps require extra purchases
(this does appear to be the difference between pro and the normal app,
but the only indication is one bit of fine print at the very bottom of
the free description!)
If I have to pay to try the offline maps, not sure about it. The
reviews say the feature doesn't work and I don't want to pay (I know,
it's just $2.99) to find that out.
If it were possible to try offline maps in some limited way (e.g.
limit the size, area that I can download) then i would like that
Also, I'm skeptical that routing works well... in this case, no fault
of the app but I know osm data quality not quite there yet for many
places.
Still, I'd be willing to try the free app sometime once I get around
to deleting old music and podcasts to make some space.
