(I have only now looked into this thread. Please forgive me if my comment duplicates what has been said earlier)
My main concern with the little "OSM" symbol is that I fear that "OpenStreetMap" is not (yet) sufficiently well known as "brand" to the general public that we could drop it. Anything we put on the map should contain the full name, be it logo or be it text. Volker Padova, Italy
