In software speak taking a snapshot and modifying it in two places is called branching. Have you ever tried to merge branches to get a result with best of both worlds? In Software its easy as long as not both branches modify the same line of code. In OSM Speak - how do you merge? When there are 2 modifications - which one is the one to take? "Last write wins"?
