That's convenient, but the produced pictures are still relatively low
quality.

So, if you have a camera that can create time-lapse pictures of 8 or 12 MP
and you don't need the video for other purposes, the quality will still be
better.

In a few months it should be possible to work with Mapillary pictures from
within JOSM.
