In order to help avoid this situation with OSM, I tagged highway 82 across Independence Pass with "seasonal=yes". If anyone knows more specifics; i.e. the precise extent of the seasonal closure or how better to tag "Closed in Winter", please update the map or reply. In order to avoid closures on I-70 due to a recent large rockslide, drivers are attempting to use CO-82 and wind up getting stuck in the snow. http://digital.olivesoftware.com/Olive/ODN/DenverPost/Default.aspx (See page 2, "Oops..." article).
