Heck, that's pretty true in the US as well; I actually did the research on this for a bet recently. Unpaved centerline miles outnumber paved centerline miles by around 3:1 in Oklahoma and closer to 7:1 in Oregon (with over 60 of those unpaved centerline miles being Portland city streets!).
