Ich habe diese Methode jetzt auch mal ausprobiert und das funktioniert auch soweit ganz gut. Dabei kam bei mir eine weitere Frage auf. Ich habe bei mir eine uralte xorg.conf, die ich immer wieder angepasst habe. In der steht eigentlich noch alles ausser den Modelines. Nun kann man ja mittlerweile viele Sections wohl entsorgen.
