Dear List I have been looking for an application to play audio books. I installed the Nokia Audio book Player, but the application required files to be converted for use with the Player. This was mind numbingly slow.
I have therefore upgraded to Talks Premium to gain access to daisy to Go. I have used a free utility called daisy Book generator which has converted a normal mp3 audio book into a daisy Book. This is very easy to use from the application key on the book folder in windows. Simply select daisy. To avoid problems I run bulk Rename on the folders before conversion to remove all spaces in the filenames as daisy book Generator does not seem to like them. The result was recognised fine by daisy to go as a daisy book. The volume was a little quiet for me so I ran the book through the free utility called Mp3 Gain whilst the phone was connected to the PC. I took the volume up to 100db and the result is now fine and can be heard by even my ears. I will now remove Nokia Audio book Player as crucially it does not have the capacity to accelerate the speed of play which is important for me. Thought people would like to know about something which works well for a change.
