Have you tried reformatting the phone with the sim card out to see if it
fixes your issue?

Stephen the phone is mine it's not locked or branded I purchased it from
next mobile in Brisbane who had no idea which network I would use. I did
not purchased it through a carrier as I did not want a locked phone.
the locked destinations are sent to all phones telstra when they use
telstra's network.
