Hi Malcom,
Not sure whether will this work for E71 but it works for N79. While alarm
screaming, press Softkey-2 to silent it. Then Press Talks and cursor up to
read the screen. It will tell as long as you do in the alarm ringing time
frame which is a minute. After reading, you still can press Softkey-1 to stop
alarm.

I forgot another question I had about the E71. after setting a calendar
entry to alarm say one, two days, or even a week in advance of the event,
when the alarm goes off, how can I view what the event is?
