Hi Alan.
Sorry I haven't made myself clear but I think you've touched on the
problem
or rather answer.
Once I've added the contacts to speed Dial which I have and pressed the
relevant Speed Dial number I haven't been pressing the "Send" button.
On previous phones such as my N86, I just press the relevant number and
hold
it down.
I've never had to press the "Send" key before.
So, is that what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.
Maurice Press.

hi maurice,
you wrote:
I've set up my speed Dial contacts now. So, I press key 2 and it says
"Text, Virtual Keyboard", I then open the Qwerty
keyboard and press the relevant number but all I get are numbers. Nothing
Dials. I know I'm doing something very stupid but don't
know what?
maybe i am a slow person, still dont really get to your problem. but
however, speed dial must set to names which already in your
contacts, you cannot add unknown number as speed dial. that is why i dont
get why you need to dial a number when after you press 2.
if the speed dial location did not have any name associate with it, when
you
press 2 and press the call button, the phone will offer
you to select a name on your contact book to attach with that speed dial
location. the only speed dial location can set with unknown
number is at speed dial 1. speed dial 1 is actually for you to call
voicemail or you can set to any number as you like.

hi Maurice,
you wrote:
1. regarding speed Dialling. When I go to phone menu and press the
contacts
icon, having opened the querty keypad I hold the
relevant number key down however, all that happens is that the number
shows up on the screen quite a few times as I'm holding it
down. So, what am I doing wrong please.
i still dont really get to your problem, can you give a step-by-step until
to your problem?
2. When I used to change profiles from say General to Silent or meeting
on
my N86, When I took the keylock off, Talks would
announce Date, time and profile in use. Now with my E7, the phone
will
announce Date and Time if I require it but not the
profile name. So I have to just check which one I've put on. Is there
any way I can get the phone to automatically announce the
profile when taking keylock off.
if you read some of my earlyer post talking about talks and N8, you will
see
that i've mention that current release of talks does
not recognize a profile icon appear right below of the date at the home
screen. try to tap your finger at the bottom of the date and
you will have the change profile screen appear. this icon is suppose to
tell
what profile you are in, but talks cannot recognize it.
3. Finally, before I start playing around with this, has anyone
installed Vlingo Voice and how do you find it.
i dont know about this app, perhaps other members can assist you further.
sorry.
