The E6 is newer than the E7. The numbering is confusing I know. The
E6 has symbian Anna on it. According to the nokia website they intend
to update the E7 and the other OS3 phones to the Symbian Anna UI at
some point. They are similar, but Anna has some differences. The
advantage that I see with the E6 is that the form factor makes it
easier to use the phone. It's always in the landscape mode. You don't
have to turn the phone to use the keyboard because it's under the
screen like the E72. So the icons on the touch screen remain the
same. It's a smaller screen so for some parcially sighted folks who
still rely on they're vision this might be more difficult. I don't
know how much difference that would make. The screen is also very
responsive to touch. It's much more sensative than my n97 mini touch
screen for example. So you have to get used to it. The good thing is
that once you are used to the added sensativity it makes it easier to
use. It has a call and end key so that's good. The soft keys are on
the touch screen, but when you get used to where they are it works
fine. At first I had a little trouble with talks command plus soft
key 2 selections, but now I'm doing better with that and find it's
working out ok. You don't need the talks key for statu updates unless
you want to know how much battery left you have. You can just touch
a spot on the screen and it tells you if you have documents in the in
box, missed calls and if you're connected to a wireless LAN. Just
last night I finally found where to touch to turn the hands free
speaker on and off. That was fun.
So amazingly talks 5.2 works quite well with the E6 even though it
isn't yet supported. Other than the web which I've mentioned before.
I'm looking forward to see what changes there will be in the next
Talks update. All and all I'd really recommend the E6 if you like the
E72 form factor-- keeping in mind it isn't fully supported at this time.

So, Eleanor, This is why I have had to put my E7 on the Backburner and go
back to my N86 which is a great phone.
I would so much like to convert to the E7 as my main phone but I still find
so many small features that I use constantly inaccessible at present with
Talks.
I am considering going for the E6 but haven't made up my mind as yet.

I concur with all you say maurice for those who feed back to Talks. Did try
it out for you dialling an extension from the keyboard but it did not work.
Fortunately I have sufficient vision to do it by touch but I could not do it
by touch without vision.
