I have no idea how your phone works, but here's what I do on my E71X.

1) While reading a text message, I use Options -> forward where I can
now edit the message.
2) I hold down the edit key and down arrow to select the lines I want to
copy.
3) I use Options -> Editing Options -> copy to copy the selected text to
the clipboard.
4) I switch over to the application where I want to paste the text. I'm
using the Notes application in this example.
5) I use Options -> Editing Options -> Paste to paste the text into the
note.

Like I said, I have no idea if this will work on your phone, but I
assume the basic steps will work, namely:

1) Forward the message so that you can now edit it.
2) Select the text you want to copy and copy it to the clipboard.
3) Jump to the application where you want to paste the text and paste it
from the clipboard.
