Subject: [Talks] E6 Bookmarks

Maurice and indeed myself asked the question a few days ago about having
Bookmarks as Home Page on E6. While I provided the response that once
on-line one can bring up a list of 12 icons, one of which is to go to
bookmarks, I have now thought of the most obvious and simplest way of
getting quickly to my preferred bookmark or my preferred web page, in my
case Google or a newspaper on-line article on my guide dog Neela. The E6
allows for Active Screens and I think one can have as many as five active
screens which one can then cycle through. Each active Home Screen has the
capacity for 3 widgets. I give an example of what I have on one of my
Active Home Screens. To set up the active Home Screen I tapped on the touch
Screen Edit home Page. This is to the left of the screen and slightly above
soft key one on the screen. This opens a list. Arrow down the list using
the down arrow until you hear Edit Home Screen or New Home Screen. If
setting up active home screen for the f irst time it will naturally be New
Home Screen, The screen will then change again and the next option will be
on the next list to Edit Home Screen. Arrowing down through the list you
shuld come across Widget Catalogue. Select this be either pressing the
select button or using the touch screen. In the Widget Catalogue (which did
not speak prior to the current release of Talks), you can now arrow down
through the options. I selected the following from my Widget Catalogue, BBC
News which provides me with a list of about 60 main news headlines for the
day, any one of which I can then go on line and read. My 2nd option is my
E-mail Box which in my case I have called Eleanor and my final selection was
Shortcuts. In choosing Shortcuts I then had the option whether to choose
Application or Bookmark. I decided to have a row of 4 bookmarks. In
choosing Shortcuts or Applications the maximum on the row is four. I was
then able to choose the following Bookmarks, Google, Open Univ ersity
Student Home, London Today (a bookmark article about my guide dog Neela) and
finally BBC Live Radio 4. Finally on my third row of active screens I have
my e-mailbox Eleanor. As I said one can have up to 5 of these Active Home
Screens so different shortcuts or newsfeeds can be set up on each page.
Another Active Home Screen has again the News Feeds, My other mailbox Neela
and this time shortcuts to Applications such as d2go, Bluetooth, etc. Hope
I explained this well enough to follow and create the Active Screens.

Eleanor
