You can always slow the speed of talks down as far as you need to. I have
done this with both screen readers and it works just fine. You may have to
go through it a few times to get the entire number but it can be done. As
for Stephen's third suggestion you have to use pc suite then go into the
phone properties.

How very interesting your final recommendation Stephen. Now the problem I
have with your 2nd suggestion is that the IMEI number is a long one and it
speaks too quickly for me, even if I do a Talks and long arrow press it is
still read too quickly for me to write it down at the same time. Any
suggestions on this one?

You can get the Talks IMEI number in the talks settings. Do a Talks
followed by a long press of soft key1. When the Talks settings comes up,
press options. Arrow down to register sub menu, press right arrow, arrow
up once to manual registration and press select. Hear you will have your
phones IMEI number as the first item on the screen. You can use the left
and right arrows to read it. You can also get the phones IMEI number by
doing a *#06# from the phones standby screen. You can also get this
information by plugging the phone into your pc and bringing up the
properties for your phone and it will be on that screen too.

Hello,
First, most importantly I am trying to get the serial number (*#0000#) so
I can buy a talks license for my N86. However, When I input the code I
keep getting device manager information. Secondly, but not as important,
I do not hear the nokia startup sound when I turn off the phone and then
turn it bacck on anymore. It worked for a couple of days but now I get
only talks speakinf at the home screen when I turn on the phone.
