If Talks has been corrupted then the best thing to do is remove all the
talks files from the phone then reboot the phone then reinstall talks and
your tts then reboot the phone. If you don't have another screen reader
installed on the phone then you will probably need sighted assistance in
removing talks. Just as a note here you could install a demo of the other
screen reader as an aid.

Hi Eleanor
I can't check anything as I don't get enough time to access
anything before the speech goes off. You can't do much in
thirty seconds. If talks has got corrupted, how can I
reinstall it, can I just download it again and put it in as
long as I know which version it is.
Regards
Adrien

You can know if it is Talks Premium because if you go to
Menu and Applications or Installed Files and where it says
Talks it will say Talks and Zooms if it is Premium. You also
probably want to know what version of Talks it is. Finally
did you check time and date like I said and software
certification to All?

Hi Eleanor
Well until I can get a sim card to put in the phone, I
have no way of
checking. And no to skype.

You need a sim card in the phone to register Talks. Can
you check you
have time and date set correctly because it sounds to me
like you do
not have.
The other thing is that you need to have the software
installation
certification set to All and not to signed.
Finally you do not say if it is Talks Premium or Talks
Standard. Are
you on Skype?

Hi Eleanor
That is all ok but talks mutes after a few seconds, he
nor
I can
figure out why, you may put the phone on and it just
shuts
up after so
long. It doesn't give us enough time to sort it out. I
think he has
switched the profile to silent.
At the moment there is no sim card in the phone.

Adrien

You can put Talks back. If Talks is in the name of your
friend, you
can, I think pay for a Talks transfer licence but that
would cost you
probably as much as getting Talks yourself. You can run
Talks from
the memory card however.
I would advise to have Talks on the phone memory. If you
are doing
this for your friend for example and he/she is keeping
the
phone and
going to continue using it, then if it is Talks Premium
you can go in
to the Talks Application, Press soft key one for options
and arrow up
or down, whatever until you get to Registration. Here a
sub-menu will
open up when you select Registration. Now there is a
manual option.
Select that and arrow down the edit boxes.
You will find the licence code for Talks. Make a note of
it and then
when you reinstall Talks, you can do a manual
registration. I am not
sure how this works if it is Talks standard from
Vodafone.

Hi
I have my friend's phone, he has a problem with talks,
it
is a nokia
72, if we have to reset it to factory settings, how can
I
get talks
back on it? Talks is on the memory card.
What would it cost me to put talks on it again in my
name?
Regards
Adrien
