Programme Officer (PO)
Christian Aid is looking to fill the position of ProgrammeOfficer based in
Medan.
The Programme Officer is responsible for developingand coordinating Christian
Aid’s response to the tsunami emergency in Indonesia,ensuring that the
responses are in line with Christian Aid’s corporateemergency response
strategy. Theimmediate aim of the post is to ensure appropriate rehabilitation
anddevelopment assistance to affected populations, with a long term objective
ofdeveloping the capacity of Christian Aid partners.
Minimum qualifications and experience required:
-
Education to first degree level orequivalent, preferably in Development Studies
-
Diploma/certificate in DisasterManagement, Sustainable Livelihoods or related
discipline
-
Minimum 3 years working withcommunity based organisations, with minimum one
year experience in implementingemergency programmes
-
Minimum of 2 years programmemanagement and administration experience
-
Facilitating capacity buildingprogrammes for local NGOs, CBOs and community
leaders on different dimensionsof project management
-
Experience and knowledge of theinternational humanitarian sector and an
understanding of development issuesand relief standards (including Sphere, Red
Cross and Red Crescent Code ofConduct)

Fluency in Indonesian Bahasa and excellentknowledge of English

Policy Advocacy Officer(PAO)
Christian Aid is looking to fill the position of PolicyAdvocacy Officer based
in Medan.
The Policy Advocacy Officer is responsible for coordinating and supporting
Christian
Aid’s advocacy work through partners who are working on the tsunami emergency
in Indonesia, and also where required to contribute to the design and
implementation
of Christian Aid’s advocacy strategy in line with overall Christian Aid
strategy on emergencies and towards Asia and the Middle East
Minimum qualifications and experience required:
-
Education to first degree level or equivalent
-
Significant experience of policy, advocacy andcommunications work
-
At least two years experience of lobbying decision-makers
-
Familiarity with Disaster Risk Reduction and preparednessprogrammes
-
Working under own initiative with a variety of differentstakeholders
-
Work experience of NGOs and co-ordination of work across acomplex organisation
-
Working knowledge of SPHERE and the Red Cross and RedCrescent Code of Conduct.

Fluency in Indonesian Bahasa and excellentknowledge of English
